We introduced Elena to her first holiday, Halloween. Our little pumpkin promptly fell asleep as soon as we arrived at our Stake's trunk or treat activity.
Elena was also blessed last week in Sacrament meeting in our ward in downtown Salt Lake City. The Harvard Ward meets in one of the oldest buildings in Salt Lake City and looks somewhat like a castle. There is a beautiful stained glass picture of the First Vision as well as an old picture of the Last Supper above the podium.
We were lucky to have so many friends and family members come to celebrate this occasion with us. There was a family dinner on Saturday night where Ammon cooked his famous pulled pork sandwiches and introduced "non-southerners" to using cole slaw as a topping on the sandwiches. We loved being at Nelson and Shirin Cannon's house; they are always ready to party. After the dinner we shared with the family the significance of the clothing that Elena would be wearing on her blessing day, including a dress made by Ammon's mother, Jani. We also displayed a special blanket that is more than 50 years old. This beautiful blanket was made by a relative of the Charette family, who are good friends with the Magnusson's.
This opportunity also gave us to chance to present Davy, my youngest brother, with a journal and encourage him to write in it on his mission to Brazil. He went through the Temple that day and we were grateful to all be there in the Temple to celebrate that occasion with him.
Thanks to all who came and participated in this event. We love you!

She's so cute in her pumpkin suit!! Maybe next year she'll be big enough to wear the Magnusson family cow suit.
